Sometimes Word documents get damaged and it gets difficult to extract the information contained in them. Corrupt DOCX Salvager offers to solve this problem by extracting text from corrupted or damaged documents created in recent Microsoft Word versions. Moreover, it can be used to view the text in a DOCX file if you do not have Word installed.
This program’s interface is quite unattractive but it has one thing in its favor: it is very easy to use. In order to recover a document, you will just need to open the file, using the File/Open menu. Almost immediately after you do that, the program will display the text in the document. Finally, you can decide to save the recovered text as a TXT file.
On the whole, Corrupt DOCX Salvager does its very simple job in a right way. Its developer claims it is even capable of rescuing documents which are no longer accessible through Microsoft Word’s Open and Repair function. However, it cannot really restore DOCX files with all the included elements, such as text format, tables, graphics or images. Worse, it will not let you save the recovered contents in their original format but as text files.
